Bailén is synonymous with pottery land. Working with clay has been part of the essence of this municipality since time immemorial.

Since 2016, the municipality has organised an International Fair–Competition of decorative ceramics, CERAMIBA, with the aim of giving visibility to and strengthening a craft that is under threat of disappearing in the 21st century. Over these four editions, the city has experienced a true economic, professional and cultural blossoming, which has set a precedent and helped to boost the ceramic sector.

With more than 1,500 visitors from both national and international backgrounds, Bailén has become a reference point and capital of ceramic craftsmanship, a reality that calls for the programming of a fifth edition to continue promoting this millenary activity.
